The Pop-Up Exhibition

The Computational Arts MA/MFA had annual Pop-Up Exhibition at St. James Church on Wednesday, February 6th from 4-9pm. The exhibition functions as a way for the cohort to display completed works, to complete the projection mapping assignment required for the Creative Coding workshops, and as a way to interface with people who are interested in possibly attending the programme. The talented Clemence Debaig designed the awesome poster and I came up with the name! GetLerped! Ha!

In retrospect with a little distance, I can say this was fun way to collaborate with members of the cohort and to see what everyone has been up to. It was however, brutally stressful and including having to create two more blog posts, a large investment of time. As I’ve mentioned before, time is quite scarce on this programme! One of the complicating factors was that we lost a day of set-up because of a scheduling error.

Thankfully for the projection mapping assignment, we had a good team with a strong coder (Adam He) in charge of compiling the code of seven people. I did most of the team organization and paperwork. I’m not sure why I took that on except that it might be related to how I feel I have crack jokes in a silent room. Two of our instructors postponed assignments and took it easy on us which provided another bit of relief.
